Paul J. Spina, III was born in Birmingham, Alabama in 1963. He is a graduate of Auburn University and Cumberland School of Law at Samford University. He was admitted to the Alabama State Bar in 1988 and the Tennessee State Bar in 2007. He is licensed to practice before all Alabama and Tennessee state courts, the United States District and Bankruptcy Courts for the Northern, Middle, and Southern Districts of Alabama, the Eastern, Western, and Middle Districts of Tennessee, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. Paul is a member of the Bankruptcy and Commercial Law Section of the Alabama State Bar, the Creditor’s Rights Section of the Tennessee Bar, the Bankruptcy and Commercial Law Section of the Birmingham Bar Association, the American Bankruptcy Institute, and an associate member of the National Association of the Chapter Thirteen Trustees. He has worked exclusively in the representation of creditor rights in bankruptcy and state courts throughout Alabama and Tennessee since 1988. He is a frequent lecturer at bankruptcy seminars at both the state and national levels.
Paul adopts the philosophy of his clients in the prosecution of his cases by maintaining the most aggressive stance possible to protect the client’s interest. With the volatility of today’s economy, Paul has become extensively involved in all aspects of bankruptcy and consumer litigation.
Paul is married to Fran D’Amico Spina and they have three children, Stephanie, Paul Joseph, and Ross.
Paul K. Lavelle was born in New Orleans, Louisiana in 1966. Mr. Lavelle is a graduate of the University of Alabama and Cumberland School of Law at Samford University. He was admitted to the Alabama State Bar in 1992 and the Tennessee State Bar in 2007. He is licensed to practice before all Alabama and Tennessee state courts, the United States District and Bankruptcy Courts for the Northern, Middle, and Southern Districts of Alabama, the Eastern, Western, and Middle Districts of Tennessee, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
Paul is a member of the Bankruptcy and Commercial Law Section of the Alabama State Bar. He is active in the Birmingham Bar Association, is a member of the Bankruptcy and Commercial Law Section of the Birmingham Bar Association, and has served on the Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee. Mr. Lavelle has lectured at continuing legal education seminars on creditors’ rights and consumer bankruptcy issues. Since 1992, his practice has been devoted to the representation of creditors in federal and state courts. Mr. Lavelle places a high priority on excellence in service to the firm’s clients. Paul is married to Jennifer Bishop Lavelle. They have two children, Connor and Ellie.
